Dr. Glenn Posner is an Associate Professor and clinician educator in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Ottawa, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Innovation in Medical Education. He graduated from McGill Medical School in 1999 and completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 2004. He completed a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Cincinnati in 2007. He worked at the Montfort Hospital before returning to The Ottawa Hospital in 2009. Dr. Posner is a busy generalist Ob/Gyn, and the lead editor of Oxorn-Foote Human Labor and Birth, Sixth Edition.

Dr. Posner was the director of postgraduate medical education for Ob/Gyn and won the Royal College Donald R. Wilson award in 2014 for excellence in incorporating the CanMEDS roles into his residency program. He was the lead simulation instructor for Ob/Gyn for 10 years, and served as the Vice-Chair of Education for his department from 2014-2016.

Dr. Posner is the inaugural Medical Director of the Simulation Patient Safety Program at The Ottawa Hospital, bringing in-situ simulation into the hospital. He is the Medical Director of the University of Ottawa Skills & Simulation Centre, and a Simulation Educator for the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Posner's program of research relates to the assessment of the intrinsic CanMEDS roles and patient-safety competencies using all forms of simulation.
